HEPA (Human Ecology Practical Area) Farmer Field School (FFS) is a pioneering training dedicated to strengthen indigenous youth. HEPA FFS lies at the heart of the 6 inter-thematic networks action of Mekong Community Network Action for Ecological Trading (MECO-ECOTRA).
Overuse of resources and the lack of a caring attitude towards Human-Nature relationships in many sensitive watershed ecosystems have been the major causes leading to land desertification problems, gradual erosion of social traditions, and the losses of ecological biodiversity.
Vieng Phet K2A student - Learning activities in Myanmar in April and May 2014
13/06/2014
Studying, discussing and sharing together with friends and manager of farms in Myanmar helped Vieng Phet to improve a lot: it was not only in agriculture knowledge, but also in presentation skills, sharing skills and TOT (training by trainer). In April, he had an opportunity to participate in the workshop "Green and peaceful - Clean and Peace" organized by KMF. After the workshop he learnt more about activities that KMF are doing. In May, he visited family and shared some knowledge which he learned from Vietnam and Myanmar with people in his family. When he came back to Myanmar, he participated in the meeting and sharing experiences among farmers in Myanmar coordinated by KMF. He learned many useful things in building and developing eco-farm systems and solutions for the challenges that eco-farming has to face.
