HEPA (Human Ecology Practical Area) Farmer Field School (FFS) is a pioneering training dedicated to strengthen indigenous youth. HEPA FFS lies at the heart of the 6 inter-thematic networks action of Mekong Community Network Action for Ecological Trading (MECO-ECOTRA).
Overuse of resources and the lack of a caring attitude towards Human-Nature relationships in many sensitive watershed ecosystems have been the major causes leading to land desertification problems, gradual erosion of social traditions, and the losses of ecological biodiversity.
Phonh’s activities in Thailand (continued): Participation in the TOA workshop and seminars on climate change issues in the Mekong region

The FK program in Thailand has given him more opportunities for communication and interaction with friends from different countries. In July of 2014, a workshop was organized by TOA (Towards Organic Asia) in Thailand, for youth in the Mekong region. Phonh has participated.
Throughout the workshop he has shared the messages of FFS-HEPA with international friends and also learned a lot of useful knowledge from those friends. Furthermore, during this time Phonh also took part in a workshop on climate change which focused on storm issues and its negative impact on agriculture and daily life. This topic also attracted the participation of many different groups such as youth groups, farmers, and elder groups)
