HEPA (Human Ecology Practical Area) Farmer Field School (FFS) is a pioneering training dedicated to strengthen indigenous youth. HEPA FFS lies at the heart of the 6 inter-thematic networks action of Mekong Community Network Action for Ecological Trading (MECO-ECOTRA).
Overuse of resources and the lack of a caring attitude towards Human-Nature relationships in many sensitive watershed ecosystems have been the major causes leading to land desertification problems, gradual erosion of social traditions, and the losses of ecological biodiversity.
Khesoong farm has been restored after the flash flood in October, 2013
05/05/2014
After more than ten years since 2002, Huong Son district, Ha Tinh provice in general, and HEPA in particular have suffered from natural disaster, that was the flash-flood in Oct 2013. The entire fence system along the Rao An River, the perennial crops system, fruit trees, and vegetable garden at the bottom part of Khe Soong farm had been destroyed completely. To live with floods and gradual recovery, the manager of Khesoong farm - Mr. Anong with the Executive Board HEPA and colleagues repaired the fence system, planted short-day vegetables and some other activities. Hopefully before 2020 the bottom part of Khesoong farm will be restored for long-day plants and animals.
Please share some pictures of the activities carried out on Khesoong
